Baitclicker day on the kayak. The goal today was to use the baitclicker in shallow water and especially for the bigger hook. Last time out I had issues with only 3-4 ft of line out. Fish were hitting the big bait and instantly feeling tension and letting go. The baitclicker lets them to take the bait and run while getting that hook firmly in their mouth.

I am also trying a new hook. The TripleThreat Circle Hook from Whisker Seeker Tackle. These are 8/0 hooks and they look mean. I was very happy with it and will likely get more sizes to try.

The wind really picked up today and cut my trip short. I was drifting fast and it was just slightly more out of the south than I would have liked and instead of pushing me along the bank it was pushing me into it. 9 fish is not bad though. Only 4 were of decent size but it was still a good day. Looking at a big boat trip next Sunday to stock up on bait (if I can find any) and do some relaxing anchoring fishing.
