Lewis and Clark Catfish Adventure

Took some time on this day to explore a bit. Wind was up and temperatures down so I wanted to stay somewhat protected from both although the wind found me regardless. A storm had come through about 12 hours earlier and the pressure was high and climbing. There was quite a bit of runoff from the rain though so I was hoping the upper part of this creek might be a place fish were camping out.

In the end I only caught 2 small channel cats and 1 HUGE log. The water level in the lake is so low you can see the undercut of the banks even up here in the creeks. Bait has been elusive as well so all in all things are difficult to say the least. I think in the Spring this particular approach (starting in the creek and working down to the lake) will be productive but right now it is pretty brutal. Debris, mud, snags you name it. All things that make it tough to catch fish.

I can hopefully find a day soon to get out on the big boat to explore, find some bait and get back on some fish.
