Merry Fishmas!!

I was lucky enough to get out on Christmas morning for a short trip. I spent my time trying several different things including depths, techniques and bait sizes. The weather was very neutral from a fishing perspective. Average pressure, average air temps and average water temps. I did some drifting, anchoring, bank fishing, shallow water and deep(ish) water. All the catfish were caught in 3-5 ft of water. One big teach from this trip is the bigger baits. I typically use smaller baits on smaller hooks to maximize the fish count but today I tried soaking 1 big bait and it landed 1 big fish and hooked into but ultimately lost another. I am going to get a few bigger hooks, 8/0 - 10/0 and try to always have 1 big bait soaking while the other two lines will continue to have smaller hooks and baits.

That is all for this year. Looking forward to an awesome 2020!!
